Mini Tank Battles

ATV Quad meets Mini Tank

Single seat miniature tank, based on a mini ATV, four or six wheeler, with tracks. But the tanks would have speed limiters on it and go no faster than 2 miles an hour, so it's a game of strategy rather than speed. I think paintball would be way too messy, so the tanks would be playing a game of laser tag, with multiple hits... maybe the winner scores 21 hits.

It's a game played between two opponents, driving miniature futuristic tanks, in some area that's broken down or abandoned, like Death Race 2000. You could find old warehouses, factories, or demolition sites. The tank drivers could have a partner who is flying a drone with a camera, with a radio headset, and tells him where to go for the best strategy. If no drones, to start with, there could be a 15 ft watchtower and the lookout has binoculars. The fun, exciting part would be the radio chatter between the teammates.

Many hobbies are so competitivethat it becomes all about racing ... like go-karts. Driving and shooting tanks is more about strategy or skill ... like paintball. It's a huge obstacle course : Deathmatch in Doom.
I first got inspired when I saw this video of a DIY dad building a small, rideable tank for his son. REVIEWS : "This guy is a metal fabricator, an engineer, a mechanic and one determined guy." - "I totally thought that this would look very backyard build quality [but instead] looks like a prototype you could see a million-dollar company do." The Tank can take lots of hits, but optionally there's a Scout. Another small vehicle, fully enclosed, is a mini bike that can go a little faster than tanks, but they're out after only five hits. One Scout for every two Tanks and a Drone operator makes a team of four. A game could be Capture the flag or Elimination.
The tank itself has to have tracks so it can go up steep inclines. The turret can be moved by hand and aimed using a live video cam, which can be zoomed in. If you can see a laser target you fire and score a point. The laser takes 10 seconds to recharge, there's no multiple firing. The shooting is about accuracy not a machine gun.
